Cancellation Policy

This policy explains when you can cancel or reschedule a repair visit at no charge, when the diagnostic fee applies, and what happens to a part ordered for your appliance if you cancel the repair.

Last updated: November 3, 2026

Cancel or reschedule at no charge

You can cancel your visit, or move it to another day or time, at no charge at any point before the technician is on the way to your home. There is no fixed notice period to meet.

If you are not sure whether the technician has already set out, ask when you call and our booking team will check.

How to let us know

Phoning (555) 555-5555 is the quickest way to reach us. Please call rather than write if the visit is only a few hours away.

You can also write to us through the form on our Contact Us page. A form message might not be read before the technician leaves, so it suits changes to visits that are a day or more ahead.

Have your name and the address of the visit ready so the booking can be found quickly. Tell us whether you want to cancel or choose a new time, and if it is a new time, which days and hours suit you.

When the diagnostic fee applies

The diagnostic fee is charged in these cases:

  • You cancel after the technician is already on the way
  • Nobody is home when the technician arrives at the booked time
  • The technician cannot get to the appliance at the booked time, for example because the laundry room is locked or the fridge is boxed in by items that cannot be moved

It is the same diagnostic fee charged for any visit. No separate cancellation charge is added on top of it.

If you already know you will be out at the booked time, call before the technician sets out, and the visit can be moved without any charge.

Parts ordered for your appliance

Some repairs need a part ordered for your exact model, such as an oven control board or a dishwasher door seal. That order is placed only after you approve the repair.

If you cancel the repair after a part has been specially ordered for your appliance, that part is non-refundable and you pay for it.

If you are unsure whether your repair needs a special order, ask the technician before you approve the price and decide with that in mind.

Saying no after the diagnosis

Hearing the price does not commit you to the repair. If you decide not to go ahead once the technician has found the fault and quoted the work, you pay the diagnostic fee and nothing more. If you do go ahead, that fee is credited toward the repair.

Your rights under Ontario law

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002, including any right to cancel an agreement made in your home.

Where this policy and the Act differ, the Act applies.

Questions about a booking
