Whirlpool Appliance Repair in King City & Kleinburg
Whirlpool appliance repair where the machine stands, in homes across King Township and Kleinburg: a top-loader stuck at F5E3, a dryer tumbling cold or a dishwasher holding water. Whirlpool builds all six appliance types we work on, gas dryers included.
Whirlpool washer, dryer, oven and dishwasher repair
Whirlpool sells every appliance type we repair in Canada, from 2-in-1 agitator top-loaders to gas dryers and an induction slide-in range. The faults listed for each come from Whirlpool's help pages for that line.
Whirlpool washer repair
Top-load agitator and impeller, front-load, laundry tower
Whirlpool's 2-in-1 top-loaders such as the WTW8127LC let you take the agitator out for bulky loads, while impeller models like the WTW5010LW have none. Both lock the lid to spin and stop with F5E3 when the lock will not engage.
F5E3: lid lock not engaging
LF or F8E1: slow fill at the taps or screens
Ld or F9E1: drain hose siphoning or clogged
Whirlpool dryer repair
Electric, gas, compact heat pump, HybridCare
Whirlpool still sells gas dryers in Canada, such as the WGD7120HC, and those go to our TSSA-certified gas technicians. Electric models need two breakers and a 240 V supply; with one leg out, the drum turns and the heat stays off.
AF or Check Vent: restricted airflow
L2: low line voltage, no heat
F3E1: exhaust thermistor circuit
Whirlpool dishwasher repair
Built-in and portable models
A two-part filter in the tub floor is meant to be rinsed by the owner, and Whirlpool lists it first among the checks for its F9E1 long-drain code. When the filter is clean and water still sits, the pump side is next.
F9E1: long drain, water left behind
F8E4: water in the base, float tripped
F7E2: wash motor fault
Whirlpool fridge repair
French door, quad door, side-by-side, top freezer
French door models can switch cooling off from the panel, and Cooling Off on the display looks like a dead fridge with the lights still on. Water filters are everydrop cartridges, due every 6 months or when the light comes on.
No ice from a badly seated filter
PO alert after a power outage
Cooling Off showing, fridge warming up
Whirlpool stove and cooktop repair
Freestanding, slide-in and induction ranges, cooktops
Whirlpool makes 24 and 30 inch electric ranges, gas ranges and an induction slide-in, the WSIS5030RZ. On induction, a pan whose base is smaller than the zone goes undetected and the zone stays off.
Burners ticking until the switches dry out
Induction zone ignoring a small pan
Loc on the display, keys locked
Whirlpool oven repair
Range ovens and wall ovens
Oven codes on Whirlpool ranges name the part: F3E0 for the temperature sensor, F9-1 for the self-clean door latch. A range left in Demo mode lights up normally and never heats.
F3E0: oven sensor, control or wiring
Demo mode: display works, oven stays cold
Bake element or gas igniter worn out
Codes Whirlpool uses
Whirlpool error codes on washers, dryers, dishwashers and ranges
Whirlpool owners in Canada search the symptom far more than the code, so each row pairs the code with what you would notice. Meanings are paraphrased from Whirlpool's help pages.
F5E3
Top-load or front-load washer
The washer cannot lock its lid or door, so it will not start or spin.
Our check: The lid lock assembly, its plug and how the lid lines up with the latch.
F8E1 / LF
Washer
Long fill: too little water is arriving in the time allowed.
Our check: Both taps, the inlet hose screens and the water inlet valve coils.
F9E1 / Ld
Washer
Long drain: water is leaving the tub too slowly.
Our check: Drain hose depth in the standpipe, the pump filter on front-loaders, then the drain pump.
AF
Dryer (Check Vent)
Airflow through the dryer is restricted by lint, a clogged vent or a crushed duct.
Our check: Airflow at the outside hood, the duct behind the dryer and the blower wheel.
L2
Electric dryer
Line voltage is low or missing, so the heater cannot come on.
Our check: Both legs of the 240 V supply at the terminal block, the cord wiring and the breakers.
F3E1
Dryer
A fault in the exhaust thermistor circuit, the sensor that reads the temperature of outgoing air.
Our check: The thermistor on the blower housing and its wiring to the control.
F8E4
Dishwasher (8 flashes, pause, 4)
Water has reached the base drip tray and tripped the float switch; Whirlpool gives no one-line name for it.
Our check: Supply fittings, the float switch plug, and where the water came from, suds from the wrong detergent included.
F3E0
Range
A fault in the oven temperature sensor circuit: the sensor itself, its wiring or the control.
Our check: Sensor resistance, its connector behind the oven back panel and the control input.
Unplugging a Whirlpool washer for 5 minutes, or switching a dryer or range off at the breaker for 1 minute, is the reset Whirlpool's help pages give. An appliance still under Whirlpool's warranty should go to Whirlpool first.
Whirlpool, the practical side
Whirlpool details that change the repair
Four things that make a Whirlpool repair go smoothly, from the washer design you own to the fuel your dryer burns.
Top-load and front-load habits
Whirlpool top-loaders siphon water away if the drain hose sits deeper than 4.5 inches (114 mm) in the standpipe, while front-loaders collect coins and hair in a pump filter behind a lower access panel.
Gas or electric dryer
Whirlpool gas dryers are repaired by TSSA-certified gas technicians. Electric ones start with the two breakers and the 240 V supply, which is exactly where Whirlpool's own no-heat checks begin.
Airflow checked with the dryer
Whirlpool links the AF code, long dry times and a hot cabinet to a restricted vent. The technician feels the flow at the outside hood and says when the vent run needs cleaning, a job we do not do ourselves.
90 days on the repair
A replaced lid lock, drain pump or dryer element carries 90 days of our warranty, parts and labour both. The diagnostic fee is put toward that repair once you agree to it.

Is a blown thermal fuse why my Whirlpool dryer runs without heat?
Sometimes, a blown thermal fuse, a heat-sensitive safety link, is why a Whirlpool dryer tumbles cold, but the element, a thermostat or the power supply can cause it too. Whirlpool's first checks are at the panel: an electric dryer needs both breakers on and a 240 V supply. We test the fuse, thermostats and element for continuity, or the igniter and valve coils on gas models. A blown fuse cannot be reset and usually means a restricted vent, so airflow gets checked too.
Why won't my Whirlpool washer lid unlock after the cycle ends?
A Whirlpool washer lid stays locked while the basket can still spin or water remains in the tub, so a slow drain is the first suspect. Run Drain and Spin, then unplug the washer for 5 minutes, the reset Whirlpool gives, and make sure Control Lock is off. Forcing the lid can break the latch. If it stays locked, we test the lid lock assembly, the drain pump and the control; F5E3 on the display points at the lock itself.
How do I take out and clean the filter in a Whirlpool dishwasher?
A Whirlpool dishwasher filter sits in the tub floor in two parts: turn the upper cylinder a quarter turn counter-clockwise, lift it out, then remove the lower screen. Rinse both under warm running water with a soft brush and refit them until the cylinder locks. Whirlpool says once a month, or every two weeks with daily loads, and lists gritty dishes and odours as signs it is overdue. A cracked filter lets food reach the pump, so it should be replaced.
How do I turn the cooling back on in a Whirlpool fridge?
Turn cooling back on in a Whirlpool fridge by cancelling Cooling Off: on many French door models, hold Lock and Measured Fill together for 3 seconds. The mode leaves the lights working with no cooling, so it looks like a breakdown. If the display never showed Cooling Off, check the setting and the breaker, then the condenser coils. Beyond those, we test the evaporator fan, defrost system and compressor start device, and say plainly when the sealed system is at fault.
Is a Whirlpool washer that will not spin worth fixing?
Usually, yes, a Whirlpool washer that will not spin is worth fixing, because the common causes are a lid lock, drive belt, motor coupling, shift actuator or drain pump. Water left in the tub stops any spin, so a blocked pump looks like a spin fault. Repair stops making sense with a worn transmission or tub bearing on an older machine, or a rusted tub; Consumer Reports gives washers about 8 to 12 years. The 50 percent rule on our home page covers the rest.
Should I call Whirlpool or a local technician while my appliance is under warranty?
Call Whirlpool first while the maker's warranty still covers the appliance, with the model number, serial number and purchase date in hand. The label is under the lid on a top-loader, on the door rim of a front-loader or dryer, and left of the tub on a dishwasher. Once the warranty ends, or for a part it does not cover, we repair the appliance in your home with a 90-day warranty of our own.
