LG appliance repair in your home: InstaView fridges, TurboWash front loaders, WashTower pairs, QuadWash dishwashers and LG ranges, fixed in the kitchens and laundry rooms of King City, Kleinburg and the communities around them. Have the display code and the model label handy for the booking call.
All six LG appliance types sold in Canada that we work on, named by the series you will see on the model or the box, with the LG faults each one is known for.
LG fridge repair
InstaView, Door-in-Door, Counter-Depth MAX, LG STUDIO
LG fridges with an ice maker use a small fan to move cold air to it. A worn door seal, a door that does not quite close or warm food going in lets frost build until that fan, or the freezer fan, stops turning.
Er IF: frost has stalled the ice maker fan
Er dH: defrost heater circuit too slow to warm
Slow ice from a filter clogged by well water
LG stove and cooktop repair
Radiant, gas and induction ranges; CBIH, CBGJ and LG STUDIO cooktops
LG sells radiant, gas and induction cooktops, built into slide-in and freestanding ranges or on their own. Health Canada recall RA-76981 covers some LG electric ranges whose front knobs people or pets can brush on; LG's fix is a warning label.
F-3: a shorted key on the touch controls
Knobs and keypad ignored while Control Lock is set
Gas burner sparking but not lighting after a spill
LG oven repair
ProBake Convection, InstaView, Dual Oven wall units
ProBake Convection puts a heating element on the back wall of the oven. An LG oven that bakes unevenly can have a failed rear element or fan motor while the lower bake element still tests fine.
F-9: oven never reached temperature in preheat
F10 or F20: door lock fault after Self Clean
Rear convection element open, uneven browning
LG dishwasher repair
QuadWash Pro, TrueSteam, Dynamic Heat Dry, FlushFit front control
Hand dish soap is the first cause LG names for its leak codes: the foam lifts the float in the base, and the dishwasher keeps pumping out to protect the floor. Heater, wash motor and drying codes are service items with no owner fix.
AE or FE: leak or overfill, often soap foam
OE: clogged filter or a drain hose sitting low
F31 or F35: a Dynamic Heat Dry fault
LG dryer repair
Electric, heat pump, steam DLEX, WashTower; older DLGX gas
Flow Sense on LG dryers watches the exhaust and flags d80, d90 or d95 as the duct closes up. On a gas model, d80 can also mean gas is not reaching the burner, a check for TSSA-certified gas technicians.
tE1 or tE3: a thermistor reading out of range
PS: cord wires swapped on the terminal block
HS: coated moisture sensor bars, long dry times
LG washer repair
TurboWash front load, ezDispense top load, WashTower, WashCombo
LG drives the drum with a direct drive motor and no belt, and LG Canada lists 10 years of parts coverage on that motor. When an LG washer will not spin, check the purchase date before paying for a motor.
OE: drain pump filter packed with lint or coins
dE2: door shuts but a bent latch will not lock
FF: water frozen inside after a cold night
LG error codes
LG error codes and what they mean
Each code below is LG Canada's meaning, put in plain words, beside the parts a technician tests when it will not clear. Codes vary by model, so match yours to the manual.
OE
Front-load washer
The washer could not pump the wash water out. LG also links it to heavy suds that air-lock the pump.
What we check: Drain hose kinks, the pump filter behind the bottom-left panel, then the pump itself: whether it hums, whether the impeller turns freely, and its winding tested with a meter.
dE2
Front-load washer
The door is shut but has not locked. LG names a bent or broken latch as one cause.
What we check: The latch hook and how it lines up with the lock, laundry trapped in the gasket, the lock switch for continuity and the wiring that runs to it.
d80 / d90 / d95
Dryer with Flow Sense
Flow Sense found the exhaust duct about 80, 90 or 95 percent restricted. On a gas dryer, d80 can also mean gas is not getting through.
What we check: Airflow at the outside hood with the dryer running, crushed or kinked duct sections, the blower wheel, and on gas models the supply valve and burner.
tE1 / tE3
Dryer
One of the dryer's thermistors, the sensors that read air temperature, is reporting a fault.
What we check: Thermistor resistance against the chart for that model, its connector, and the harness back to the control board.
AE / FE
Dishwasher
A leak was detected or the tub overfilled, so the dishwasher keeps draining to protect the floor.
What we check: Water in the base pan and the float switch, the door gasket and door alignment, hose joints under the tub, and on overfill the water inlet valve.
Er IF
Fridge with ice maker
Frost or ice is blocking the ice maker fan. LG points to gaps in the door seal, warm food and doors left open.
What we check: Fan blade clearance and motor, gasket contact all round each door, door alignment, and the defrost parts that should keep that area clear.
Er dH
Fridge
The defrost system did not warm up enough within two hours.
What we check: Defrost heater continuity, the defrost sensor and thermal fuse, and the board output to the heater. This circuit sits outside the sealed system, so it is a repair we do.
F-9
Electric or gas range
The oven did not reach 66 °C (150 °F) within five minutes of preheating. LG lists a shorted element, the relay control board or a relay connector.
What we check: Bake and convection element resistance, relay output on the control board, connector condition, and on gas models the igniter and the oven shut-off valve.
LG's own first step for many washer and dryer codes is a reset: unplug the machine or switch off the breaker, hold Start/Pause for 5 seconds, then restore power, and for a dishwasher OE it is cleaning the filter. If the appliance is still under LG's warranty, call LG before booking us.
Why King Valley for LG
Why book King Valley for LG appliance repair
Four reasons that come from how LG builds, labels and backs its appliances.
Model and serial from the right spot
LG puts the label at the top of the door opening on front loaders and dryers, on the right edge of a dishwasher door and on an inside wall of most fridges. Read us those numbers and the technician can look up your exact model before arriving.
LG weak points, tested first
Frost-blocked ice maker fans in LG French door fridges, packed pump filters in front loaders, Flow Sense warnings on dryers with long ducts: the diagnosis starts where LG's own fault lists point.
Gas LG units included
LRGN and LSGL gas ranges, the gas WashTower, and the DLGX gas dryers LG no longer sells but many households still run: all are covered by our TSSA-certified gas technicians.
A plain answer on compressors
When an LG fridge is warm at both ends, the fans, defrost parts and control board are tested first. If the compressor or refrigerant circuit is the cause, you hear it plainly, because sealed-system work is outside what we do.
How an LG visit runs
1
Tell us the symptom
Call or use the form. The model number from the appliance label helps us bring the right parts.
2
Choose a time
Calls before noon can usually be seen the same day. Otherwise we book the next open slot.
3
Diagnosis and price
The technician tests the appliance and quotes the repair. Nothing goes ahead until you approve.
4
Repair with warranty
Say yes to the quote and we deduct the diagnostic fee from the total. The finished repair stays under warranty for 90 days.

Why does my LG washer stop partway through the spin and show UE?
UE on an LG washer means the load bunched to one side and the drum could not even it out, so the spin stops short. Spread the load, pair a lone heavy item such as a bath mat with a few towels, fill to about two thirds and level the feet. When UE returns on normal loads, we inspect the shock absorbers, top-loader suspension springs, the rotor position sensor and, on front loaders, the spider, the cast arm on the back of the drum.
Why are the buttons on my LG washer or dishwasher dead with CL on the display?
Child Lock is on when an LG washer or dishwasher shows CL: the buttons are locked on purpose, and nothing is broken. On most LG front loaders, holding the Child Lock button for about 3 seconds releases it; some LG dishwashers use Half Load and Energy Saver together for 3 seconds, as the manual for your model shows. That rarely needs a visit. If CL will not clear, the keypad membrane or control board is the next suspect.
Can LG's Smart Diagnosis tell me what is wrong before a technician comes?
Partly, LG's Smart Diagnosis in the ThinQ app points to likely causes of a failure, but it cannot measure a worn part or a loose connection. Wi-Fi models run it through the app; on models without Wi-Fi diagnosis the app guides you through an audible version that sends tones to your phone. Mention the result when you book. The technician still tests the suspects, since the app reports what the control board saw, not the state of the pump, heater or bearing behind it.
Is the compressor in my LG fridge covered longer than the rest of the fridge?
Yes, LG Canada lists 10 years of parts-only coverage on the fridge compressor, depending on model, against 1 year of parts and labour for the rest. Labour is not part of that longer term. Replacing a compressor is sealed-system work we do not take on, so call LG first. We can confirm the cause, though: a warm LG fridge may have a frosted fan, a defrost fault or a failing control board, the part that drives the linear compressor, and those we repair.
What is the usual lifespan of an LG refrigerator?
An LG refrigerator's lifespan is estimated from general fridge figures, not a brand number: Consumer Reports gives 10 to 14 years, and Natural Resources Canada uses 13. Dusty condenser coils shorten that, and LG suggests cleaning them once or twice a year; on well water, change the water filter sooner than every 6 months. In a fridge well inside that range, a fan, defrost heater, ice maker or board is usually worth replacing, while a failed compressor near the end of it rarely is.
How often should I run Tub Clean on an LG washer, and with what?
LG Canada recommends running Tub Clean on an LG washer once a month, after every 30 loads or whenever tCL shows, always with the drum empty. Add an oxygen-based washing machine cleaner at its stated dose; LG warns that chlorine-based or acidic cleaners can discolour or corrode the inside. Wipe the gasket dry, leave the door open and use HE detergent. Black mould tends to settle in the gasket folds and lint or coins in the drain pump filter, so clean that filter monthly too.
