Samsung appliances we fix

Samsung dryer, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher repair

Samsung Canada currently sells all six appliance types we repair. Each card uses Samsung's own series names and lists faults rooted in the way Samsung designs that appliance.

Samsung fridge repair

Bespoke AI, Family Hub, Twin Cooling Plus, Dual Auto Ice Maker

On Samsung French door fridges, warm air slipping past the ice bucket seal, a left door out of line or a dispenser flap held open turns into frost and a frozen bucket. Samsung warns against forcing the bucket out or using a hair dryer.

  • Sheet of ice over the ice maker
  • 22E or 21E: a fan iced over or stalled
  • Dispenser flap frozen open, letting warm air in

Samsung stove repair

Slide-in and freestanding electric, induction, gas, Pro-Style

An underlined u on a Samsung induction zone means no suitable pan was detected. If your Samsung electric slide-in range is listed in Health Canada recall RA-75974, over knobs turned on by accident, Samsung Canada supplies free knob locks.

  • Induction zone switching off after a minute
  • Cracked glass top over a radiant element
  • Igniter clicking on until the burner dries out

Samsung oven repair

Flex Duo, Air Fry, NV51 single and NQ70 double wall ovens

A Samsung oven that lights up but never warms may be in demo mode, shown as tESt or tE5t. Gas burners still light in that mode, which makes it look like an oven fault. A truly cold oven points to the element, igniter or relay.

  • -dE- or -dC-: Flex Duo divider not seated
  • C-24: overheating with the rear vent covered
  • Hidden bake element or igniter not heating

Samsung dishwasher repair

DW80 StormWash, AutoRelease door, DW90F AI Wash

Samsung dishwashers halt with LC as soon as the base pan senses moisture, even from detergent foam. Drain trouble shows as 5C, and Samsung's own first steps are cleaning the filter, the sump and the drain hose connections.

  • LC: moisture in the base pan
  • 4C: supply valve shut or pressure too low
  • HE or tE: water heater or sensor fault

Samsung dryer repair

Electric DVE, gas DVG45B, heat pump DV25, Bespoke AI

Samsung links its HE and tE dryer codes to a clogged lint screen or vent, and models with a Vent Blockage test report C80 or C90. A dryer that tumbles cold needs the heater and thermal fuse checked.

  • 9C1: low voltage, often from an extension cord
  • Thermal fuse blown after running hot
  • dO or dC: door switch not sensing a closed door

Samsung washing machine repair

ActiveWave and Pet Care top load, Super Speed front load, Bespoke AI Laundry Combo

Some Samsung displays tell faults apart by letter case: a lowercase dc means an unbalanced load, an uppercase dC a door that is not locked. Sd or SUd only means too much detergent, and Cb is a calibration run with the drum empty.

  • Lid or door lock not confirming: dC
  • Pump filter blocked: nd or 5C
  • Hot and cold hoses swapped: 4C2

Codes on the display

Samsung error codes and the parts behind them

Seven Samsung codes worth knowing, with Samsung's meaning and what gets measured on the visit. Washer codes follow Samsung's US list, the rest Samsung Canada's.

dC

Washer, front or top load

The washer cannot confirm that the door or lid is closed and locked.

What we check: Laundry caught at the seal, the latch hook, the door lock assembly's switch and actuator, and the wiring between the lock and the main board.

HE

Dryer

A heating error: the dryer is running too hot. Samsung adds that low supply voltage can weaken heat on electric models.

What we check: Airflow through the vent run, heating element resistance, the thermal fuse and high-limit thermostat, and voltage at the terminal block.

9C1

Dryer

The supply voltage is abnormal. Samsung wants the dryer on its own circuit with no extension cord.

What we check: Voltage at the outlet and terminal block, cord connections on electric models, and the power section of the main board.

4C

Dishwasher

Water pressure or water temperature at the inlet is too low. Samsung also says not to use FloodSafe hoses on its dishwashers.

What we check: The shut-off valve under the sink, the inlet valve coil and its screen, and the temperature of the water arriving in the tub.

22E

Fridge

The fan on the fridge side has a fault. A door left open can set it off.

What we check: Ice on the fridge evaporator behind the rear panel, fan motor voltage and spin, the defrost heater and the defrost sensor.

21E

Fridge

The freezer fan has a fault: it may be iced over, the motor may have failed, or a door was left open.

What we check: Freezer fan blade and motor, frost on the freezer evaporator, the door gaskets, and the defrost circuit that should melt that frost.

-dE- / -dC-

Flex Duo range

The Flex Duo divider is not seated where the switch at the back can detect it.

What we check: Divider position (third slot from the top on electric and dual fuel, fourth on gas), then the divider switch and its wiring.

Samsung Canada asks fridge owners not to unplug or press buttons to clear a code before service, so leave it showing; for a range or wall oven code, turn it off and on with the Power button, then try the breaker for 30 seconds. Owners still inside Samsung's warranty period should contact Samsung before anyone else.

Why book us for Samsung

What we bring to Samsung appliance repair

Samsung appliances have quirks of their own, and these four shape how a King Valley visit goes.

The code is the first clue

A code still on the screen tells the technician which fan, sensor or heater to test first. That is why Samsung asks owners not to clear fridge codes by unplugging before service.

Rating labels found fast

On a Samsung fridge the rating label is inside on the left wall, with a second one outside at the bottom left. Dishwasher model numbers start with DW on the door rim, and a range serial runs 15 characters on the oven door frame.

Ice maker frost traced to the cause

Thawing a frozen Samsung ice bucket without stopping the warm air brings the frost back. The technician checks the ice bucket gasket, the left door alignment and the dispenser flap, the causes Samsung itself names.

Gas and dual fuel models

Gas work on Samsung slide-in and Pro-Style ranges, NX60 freestanding gas ranges, the dual fuel Flex Duo and DVG45B dryers is done by TSSA-certified gas technicians, and the price is yours to approve first.

Samsung FAQ

Samsung appliance repair FAQ

Straight answers on Samsung cooling, ice, leak and washer codes, plus when a fridge repair pays.

What makes the fridge side of a Samsung warm while the freezer stays frozen?

A Samsung fridge section warms while the freezer stays cold when its own evaporator ices over or its fan stops, since Twin Cooling Plus models cool each side separately. The evaporator is the cold coil behind the rear panel; we look for frost there, listen for the fan and force a defrost from service mode to test the heater and sensor. Before calling, check that food is not blocking the vents, the setting is about 4 °C and the gaskets seal all round.

Does the test button on a Samsung ice maker fix it when the ice stops?

Sometimes, the test button on a Samsung ice maker clears a stalled cycle: held until it chimes, it runs a fill and harvest test of about six minutes. The button may sit behind the ice bucket. If no ice drops and no water flows, check that the Ice Off icon is not lit, then allow 8 hours. Past that, we test for a frozen fill tube, an iced-over ice compartment, a dead water inlet valve or a failed ice maker assembly.

What does the LC code on a Samsung dishwasher mean?

A Samsung dishwasher shows LC when its leak sensor finds moisture, and on Waterwall models the same code can point to a blocked water reflector. Switch it off, look for foam from hand soap or too much detergent, and give the base time to dry before the next cycle. If LC comes back, we trace the water: door gasket, sump seal, hose joints and the drain pump housing, then test the sensor itself.

Why does my Samsung washer show 4C instead of filling with water?

Water is not entering a Samsung washer properly when 4C appears: the fill error stops the cycle before washing can start. Open both taps fully, make sure the hot and cold hoses sit on the right inlets without kinks, and clean the small screens where they attach; Samsung also advises against FloodSafe hoses. If water still will not come in, we meter both inlet valve coils and check the water level sensor, the pressure switch that signals a full tub.

Is it worth paying to fix a Samsung fridge that is out of warranty?

Usually, yes, a Samsung fridge out of warranty is worth fixing when the fault is a fan, defrost part, ice maker, sensor or control board. Those parts are replaced in your kitchen. A failed compressor or a refrigerant leak is different: we confirm it and tell you, and the digital inverter compressor carries Samsung Canada's 10-year parts term, so check whether yours is still covered. Weigh the quote against age too, since Consumer Reports puts most fridges at 10 to 14 years.

What do the SE and 5E codes mean on a Samsung washer?

Both SE and 5E are drain errors on a Samsung washer: Samsung lists them alongside 5C, SC and nd for water that is not leaving the drum. The form shown depends on the display. Check the drain hose for kinks, then empty a front loader through the drain tube into a shallow pan and clean the debris filter, which Samsung advises at least monthly or about every 40 washes. If water stays, we check for a jammed impeller or failed drain pump.
